I watched 'Ayat-ayat Cinta' and was taken away by the movie. Benchmark any Malay movie and Indonesian Movie, 'Ayat-ayat Cinta' can easily be the best. Of course, I am not good at reviewing movie and i have not seen lots of movie, thus my comment might be irrelevant. Nevertheless, i enjoyed it.
I made 5 copies and gave it to my close friends and hope that it will give them the understanding of whatever it is they want to understand .
What catches my attention was there's this one scene in which Fahri, the main character, in a Taaruf, (a meeting) with the present of family member to introduce to him his -probably- future wife. With one look he agreed, ran upstairs and told his best friend 'Aku sudah ketemu teman hidupku'. He said 'Teman Hidupku'.
For us, in reality, we have been told to get to know the person first before we get committed. But maybe people who think that way have never learned to understand the
'universal language' (1). That
lintasan pertama di hati.
Because when you understand that someone in the world awaits you, and when 2 such people encounters each other, and their eyes meet, the past and the future is no longer relevant. There is only that moment. (1)
That moment when cupid strike, that lintasan pertama that can be just about anything, perhaps for some people, the beating heartbeat, or perhaps when the eyes meet, or simply it can be that overwhelming feeling of vibration in your body. Can be just about anything.
When cupid strike, there is only that moment of certainty that everything is written by the same hand. The hand that creates the existence of the universe, the hand that created a
twin soul for every person in the world.
Prophet Muhammad SAW, during his daughter, Fatimah Azzahra's r.a wedding, said ' Semoga Allah
menghimpunkan yang terserak dari kedua-duanya, memberkati mereka keduanya dan meningkatkan darjat keturunan mereka.'
Perhaps, does the words 'menghimpunkan yang terserak dari kedua-duanya' refers to Adam's right rib that makes the whole part of Eve's? The twin soul, soulmate, teman hidup, jodoh, whatever you might called it.
Believe in jodoh, but most importantly, we have to listen to our lintasan pertama, and as my wise man always said ' Whatever u think, follow the first instinct of your heart.'
